In the words of Jack Nicholson, "You can't handle the truth!" And the truth is, it's Thursday, and the quiz is still out there, waiting for the rest of you to pony up with the answers. There's quite a few eager beavers out there, most notably the 103 of you who answered within the first twelve hours. But some of you need a little extra encouragement, a bit of incentive, some motivation. And so I give you...



That's right. If you answer the quiz, I hereby permit you to eat one pudding of your choice. That's right. A pudding. For you British types, that really opens up a whole range of munchies. Over here, it's a bit more specific, but I'll stretch and say that chocolate mousse counts as a pudding, just because I love it so. And hell, if you pimp it and someone joins and plays, both you and they can have pudding. It's a win-win situation! In fact, I'll eat a pudding for everyone who plays between now and Friday night!¹

Also, we're counting down to the LJDQ One Year/One Thousand Watcher Celebratory Global Pub Crawl! Anytime over the weekend of July 15-17 is the time! Meet your local LJDQers! Drink like fish! Take pictures! Send them to us! The New York City version of the crawl will be Friday, 15 July 2005. Exact location and times forthcoming. True Story Time:

A few years back, I was visiting my good buddy angledge in Philadelphia for the weekend, just hanging out and enjoying the weekend and such. Another friend of hers stops by in the morning to pick up a few books from her, and we got to chatting about his job as an IT guy somewhere, and how he spent night shifts playing games. He says, "I spent half the night playing this game- umm... you ever hear of Diablo?" Ang and I exchange glances, and reply in perfect unison and tone, "LOOKING FOR BAAL?!??!?"

Surprised the hell out of him. We're scary sometimes.

My guess would be that they this kind of theory about the answers - something like that for every five answers, there might be a mild funny. For every five of those, there might be a moderate funny. For ten of those, there might be quite a good funny. And then, for about a hundred of those, you get funny of instant death. So, if there's 1100 watchers, if they all play then that makes 6600 answers, 2620 mild funnies, 524 moderate funnies, about 52.4 that are really very good, and a 1/2 chance of an answer that causes Instant Death by Laughter. So, if they eventually got enough quizlings, they could fill the Daily Answers with Funny of Death.
