Eleven months of quizzing brings us, as we mentioned, to the 1000 watcher mark. Surprisingly, when we started this so long ago, I was saying "Well, we're staring with 30 people. If it grows to a hundred, I think that'll be pretty good. We might even hit two hundred if we're lucky."

Boy was I wrong.

As always, it's nice to see so many interested folks, and it's our pleasure to provide a new quiz every week. It'll also be our pleasure to host the LJDQ Pub Crawl next month, on July 15th or 16th in San Francisco and July 16th in New York City. And by "host" we mean "We'll be in these two cities, but you can be anywhere you want to be to toast. Or drink. Or both. But it'd be nice if you came to see us, because we're full of love for all of you."

In the meanwhile, I also have gotten my Primal Hunger back. Today's snack food:
Like a hot dog, with more legs and hair. Unless it's a New York City hot dog, in which case it's just more legs.

You know you want some. So eat up, and play, and tell your friends!

The black footed ferret is a wild relative of the tame variety.

No, it's not a pet, but they're genetically related.

They look a lot like that critter in the picture as kits.

yes a distant relative. The black footed ferret being Mustela Nigripes and the domesticated ferret being Mustela Furo. Although they have the same ancient ancestor, that being the Steppe and european polecat. the blackfooted ferret made its way to north america as long as 1 million years ago, long before the domestication of the ferret which happened thousands of years ago.

although you may think they look alike, but they are very differnt. First is color. The Black footed ferret's nose is almost always solid blakc and it has distinctive dark brown feet, legs and tail. The domestic ferret can vary in color, shade, and pattern a great deal. The black footed ferret on the other hand has very limited variations with there always being a white cream or buff bib and brown saddle. the black footed ferret has a more tubular tail, arger eyes and broader ears as well as a longer neck.

Whoa! It's not every day I meet a ferret expert.

I almost got one as a pet once, but my cat decided it would be fun to have for lunch.
