An LJDQ reminder to all 400 of you

That's right - today the ljdq hit 400 watchers. It took us just under seven months to reach this level. I love each & every one of you. And I'm reminding each & every one of you that answers to this week's Quiz are due today.

So how long do you think it will take us to reach 600 watchers?

Well, I guess you'd have to create a formula based on what you've got and the growth rate, and then you could make a substantial guess.

Here's why. The LJDQ has grown from two primary sources: metaquotes and community_promo. I think if you cross-check our watchers list vs. metaquotes you'll find a huge overlap. So it stands to reason that we're going to fish that pool out at some point - my opinion is that we've almost done so now. As for community_promo, every time I remember to post an ad on that, we get three or four new watchers. But that's it.

What we need is more word-of-mouth advertising: i.e., Quizlings posting LJDQ blandishments on their private LJs. I'd also like to find some other communities that might appreciate hearing about the LJDQ, but it's hard to search for them because the interest "quiz" brings up scores of those detestable meme communities.

Any marketing thoughts you might have are appreciated. Although exactly WHY I want MORE work from this silly little hobby remains unclear ....

The "LJDQ is love" banner was posted just last week. Other than that, I've got no graphics skillz at all. But if anyone feels like making some LJDQ graphics for promotional purposes, I'd be really grateful & happy to post them on some future Wednesday reminder or somesuch.

Hey, that's an awesome spotlight in some cases ... remember the Matthew Shepard Meme? I'd have looooved to see that get onto ljdrama ... (BTW, even without that, I hit the big time anyway -- I got a hate letter from Fred Phelps! w00t!)

No, I posted the letter he sent in a friends-locked entry on my old LJ, back in November when he sent it ... next year, I'll post it again on the same entry that I'll repost the meme on, so the public can see it.
