All hail Julius Caesar, and the month that bears his name, even though he died in some other month. They should have thought that through better. But that's beside the point. The point is, it's Thursday once again, and there is a plus-sized quiz just waiting to be taken. So go forth, and take that quiz, now with 33% more questiony goodness. It's good for you. Healthy. Tasty. Like this guy, OM NOM NOM NOM.

Go. Play. Take Quiz.

Fun Fact: "July" is named after Julius Caesar because that is supposedly the month he was born (13 July 100 BC). According to The Sons of Caesar - Imperial Rome's First Dynasty:

It is because Julius Caesar was born in this month that [the month of] Quintilis was later renamed in his honour (modern July). By an interesting coincidence Caesar's birthday fell on the principal day of the games to Apollo, the Julian's preferred deity.

Things you may not have known about hyenas:

- one of their closest living relatives is the Meerkat
- striped hyenas are smaller and much more interesting than the spotted ones typically shown on documentaries
- much like meerkats, these fuckers dig recreationally. two of them can make a fair approximation of an open grave in sandy soil overnight. every night.[1]

[1] if you are a zookeeper, this will drive you absolutely bugshit

I'm still not sure about the difference between these. Especially meerkats.

If only there were some way I could compare them.

spotted hyenas are larger and more stocky - 200+ lbs, the ones you see on NatGeo contesting kills with lions and whatnot.

striped hyenas are about 100 lbs and tend to be in smaller groups.

meerkats are about 3-10 lbs, and "meerkat manor" is a fairly popular. they live in groups of about 20

Are meerkats the ones who sing "I like to Move It, Move It" all the time, or is that lemurs?

;p

Is it bad that I only just realised last week (when you were playing Rocky Horror in Argentina and wearing corsets) that the titles (heehee, tit... heehee ...) for the Thursday reminder have the LJDQ initials? Yeah, I'm a bit slow. :D

Welsh for July - Gorffennaf. Which means - End of Summer. We are a very literal people. :D

Shopping tomorrow! :D W00tage! See you all Monday.
